Design Trends for Remodeling Your Kitchen

As an experienced general contractor in Spring Branch TX, we’re prepared to handle all kinds of building and remodeling projects. One of our favorite types of projects is kitchen remodeling. This is one of the biggest-impact upgrades you can make to your home, in terms of appearance, function and value.

Here are some of the most effective ways to bring your kitchen up to date:

Add a statement island

We recently completed a total kitchen remodel that included a standout island. The square island was a focal point in the kitchen with its blue paint and multiple functions. It had a large work surface, drink cooler and plenty of storage space. Islands are often the hub of the kitchen, and as such they should look the part!

Hardwood Floors

Real wood floors are attractive and durable, and they evoke feelings of warmth and tradition. Today’s wood floors come in a variety of colors to blend with any décor.

Upgraded cabinets

Changing your cabinetry makes the biggest impact of any kitchen project. They can create a whole new look in your kitchen as well as making it much more functional.

Energy Star appliances

Replacing old appliances with new Energy Star appliances will save on your utility bills. New appliances also improve the look of your kitchen and can make cooking more enjoyable.

Tile backsplash

A new tile backsplash will help set the tone of your kitchen. Go subtle with white or gray subway tiles, or add drama with faceted glass tiles in bold colors.

We used some of these ideas in a kitchen remodel we did recently for clients who experienced flood damage from last winter’s freeze. We installed new white cabinets, a blue island, hardwood floors and new energy-efficient stainless steel appliances. The new kitchen is now an enjoyable place for the client to cook meals or socialize with guests in the adjacent family room.

Building Dreams. One at a Time.

“Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:12-14
