5 Bathroom Trends to Try in Your New Custom Home

Building truly custom homes in Kerrville TX gives us the opportunity to keep up with the latest design trends. Each of our homes is designed and built from the ground up to suit a specific client and their tastes.

When you build a custom home with Butcher Behrens, you can design your bathroom any way you like. The room can be as large as you need, positioned where you want it and configured in a way that suits you. That’s not something you can get in a pre-existing home or one built from a stock plan.

We also do remodeling, so if you love your current home but you don’t love the bathroom, we can change it for you! We’ll help you plan the new layout and guide you through choosing the best fixtures and materials to fit your vision of the ideal bathroom.

Here are some trends to consider when you create a new bathroom with us:

Mid-century modern vanities – If you keep up with general design trends, you’ve probably noticed that mid-century modern (MCM) design is everywhere these days. The sleek lines of MCM are becoming more popular by the minute. Bathrooms are no exception. Your MCM bathroom vanity can be purchased new, custom built or repurposed from a vintage dresser.

Freestanding bathtubs – Perhaps to go along with the trend toward retro styles, we’re seeing a resurgence in the popularity of freestanding, traditional-style bathtubs. Clawfoot and pedestal tubs can be found in architectural salvage yards or bought brand new.

Brass and copper hardware – Dark brass and bronze faucets and other hardware are in style right now, along with industrial-looking copper. These can pair well with a retro tub.

Modern technology – Despite the resurgence of retro styles, today’s up-to-the-minute bathrooms take advantage of technology in elements such as touch-free toilets and programmable showers.

Mellow colors – Soft colors like sand, cream and natural wood tones help to blend the mix of old and new and create the feel of a relaxing oasis.

Building Dreams. One at a Time.

“Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:12-14
